Ha ha ha. How can you tell? Were they not wearing their Lib Dem badges?"I hope Celtic realise that, if their team is good enough, they will win. If they're not good enough, they'll not win - and they can't look at anybody else, whether it is referees or any other influence." - Walter Smith
On them! On them! They fail! -

I'm living in a place called Brackley which is just classified as Midlands. I'm in between the M40 and M1 so 15 mins gets me onto the motorway of my choice, not too built up, property is reasonably priced and there are lots of good schools here. We are also 5-10 mins from Silverstone which is fun if you like going on the track or watching various motorsports. Some average times to get to places from here:
Banbury - 15 mins
Bicestor - 15 mins
Oxford - 30 Mins
Abingdon - 45 Mins
Northampton - 20 mins
Milton Keynes - 30-40 mins
Central London - 2 Hours (Assuming train)
Birmingham - 1 Hour
Leicester - 1 Hour
Cheltenham - 1 Hour 30 mins
If you are seriously looking some of the more affluent areas that will get you a nice big 6 bed house with a few acres of land and possibly some stables are:
Radstone
Turweston
Finmere
Little Tingewick
Evenly

I would recommend Southampton, buzzing City, reasonable house prices, lots of work available and with the New Forest etc on our doorstep, you cannot go wrong...and with the added value of being near the water and close to the Airport for cheapy FlyBe flights

I live in Leighton Buzzard, which is near those two but not at all like either. It is well placed for the commutes that I need to make to go to decent contracts:Originally posted by TheBigYinJames View PostI voted other, because the obvious place to stay (midlands) wasn't really an option. Somewhere which is an hour from London, an hour from Brum, an hour from the M4 corridor (Reading/Slough) an hour from Cambridge and an hour from Oxford is not a bad place to pick up contracts from.
That is the Bedford / Milton Keynes area. Yes, this ideal place had to have a downside.
Luton
Heathrow
City Airport
Birmingham International.
Quality of life, and a steady contracting income? Sounds like 2 polls to me.Comment

Leicester. It's crap and there's no work, but it's very handy for several of the best hunts in the country. The Quorn is a mere half hour's drive from the affordable housing in some of the more violent council estates.Originally posted by realityhack View PostThanks for all the responses so far folks - keep them coming.
I suppose I could do that - but I like being out and about, seeing clients etc. Also, would be helpful if the area has a strong arts community I could get involved with.Comment
