Hang your head in shame woman! Shoe shopping is the the utlimate expression of female enjoyment, surely. Frankly, I have my doubts that you are a woman after saying that!
Why shoes? Why is it women feel the need to hoard all the worlds shoes. You don't see the same thing with say jumpers or motor cycle crash helmets. What is it about shoes which attract them so much.
Bunch of ferkin nutters if you ask me!
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

An GF of mine had a theory that it was due to the fact that they (shoes) aren't affected by weight gain, loss or other body image issues.........

........ its because when I try the shoes on in the shop they feel like heaven, like I'm walking on clouds and walking will become an enjoyable thing to do and I look forward with joy to at least walking round the shops in some comfort at last.
Five minutes walking on the pavements of Edinburgh and the new shoes I've bought have somehow sprouted nails on the inside of the soles; my toes are all crammed together at the toe of the shoe and feel as if they've been moulded into a single lump;my ankles keep turning over (admittedly NOT the fault of the shoes) and I'm praying for the next taxi or bus to turn up so I can sit down and take the dratted things off for as long as it takes me to get home and throw them away (which, unfortunately for my wardrobe space I never get around to doing).

It seems to be a generational thing, closely related to the television programme Sex and the City.
I don't remember women fetishising shoes to anything like the current degree in the Eighties and Nineties. Then SATC appeared, circa 1998, projecting an obsession with fashion epitomised by the canonisation of designer shoes as the ultimate aspirational item.
Now all one hears about women in their twenties and thirties (i.e. those who watched SATC from the time it was first run, and absorbed its premise at a formative stage of their lives) is that they are mad for shoes, and the attendant accessories such as handbags.
It all seems very odd to me
Footnote: I was working on Leicester Square at the time of the SATC film world première. All the usual crowd control procedures were in place, with barriers, a strong police presence, and certain areas closed off to the crowds for security and safety reasons. All these arrangements had been absolutely fine when the Rolling Stones were there, or any of the other high-profile events that had happened over the preceding few months.
Bring on the SATC ladies and the police were rapidly forced to fall back, allowing the secure areas to be breached, as they were unable to maintain control of a bunch of young Heat-magazine-reading girlies in stilettos, desperate for a closer glimpse of a very stupid-looking hat.
Yep, nothing like a good old pair of beetle crushers. The snag is the laces - all those seconds doing them up accumulate, and it's a pain when they snap and you don't have a spare pair.
