You're confusing dependent and independent variables. The issue is complex and athere are confounding factors.
But the hypothesis I would investigate is for example, the link between likelihood to commit crime and absent fathers, all other factors being equal.
Such things are amenable to investigation.

Had a quick look at the stats in the PDF document given on that page 'Crime in England and Wales in 2007/08' and it looks as if all crime except drug offences went down in the last year, and serious crime levels not much different to 25 years ago.

There is no purpose in pointing out problems with migrants just for the sake of it, but there is a purpose. This government's total lack of control is putting everyone at risk and we need to demand suitable checks. As it I have said before, PC sorts should remember it is law abiding minorities who suffer most, Kurdish/Chinese protection racketeers target Kurdish/Chinese businesses. It is mostly young blacks who end up getting stabbed/shot by migrant blacks and then they get blamed whenever some other Somalian shoots a policeman, people just see a black face.

As far as I can make out, of all the 25 or so well publicised stabbings/shooting this year, only one was by white Brits.

According to various 'experts' on the telly the other night the figures are correct but it is almost certainly due to the economy doing well for the past 10 years and sod all to do with specific political initiatives. Bring back some good old 70s and 80s unemployment and then watch the figures.
