Given the dodgy drum brakes on those old Commers, I didn't think they could do a full stop.

At my current client's site, I worked in a team of 6 contractors. 5 have moved on to one project and I've moved onto another but we still sit reasonably close together.

The other contractors told me one of their number actually didnt turn in for 2 days yet still billed for attendance! No one said a word apparently. The guy is a total p*ss take and he's not good at his job.

You can understand clients clamping down on the likes of him if they find out. Trouble is, it gives us all a bad name.

For the benefit of the panel...

What you could try is dobbing him in it and telling management:

"In future only recruit contractors who are CITP or at least MBCS or MIAP. Then you can be confident they won't take the p*ss because they know that if they do, you can punish them professionally."

Let's see what reaction that gets...

Did he get the beers in for everyone in return for not being shopped?

I once heard of a guy working at a GEC company who secured himself two different contracts in the the same building, did half a day's work on each and billed a full day to both jobs.

And here's me sh***ing myself that one day I'm going to get caught coming in 15 minutes late, forgetting this and going home on time. (I'm on an hourly rate)

Had a contract with a large well known maker of computers. Was to work from home so took on another contract at the same time. Both worked out perfectly as HAL had no work for me to do other than be available in case I was needed.

                  Six months billing x 2

Question is can they do this just like that? Or do they need HR to agree to that?

Sounds a bit silly as we all on daily rates so if we come in 10 mins late and go 5 minutes earlier what difference does that make as billing is per day?

                      Anyone had this before?
