Strictly speaking we share a common ancestor which was apelike, but we didn't descend from apes or monkeys. Dawkins has a great book out which covers our lineage as best as can be guessed, all the way to at least single celled organisms bilions of years ago, but like with many of his books I got bored before I read the whole thing and the book is bookmarked

Dawkins is the atheistic equivalent of a fundementalist teleevangelist. Frankly an embarassment to atheists who don't believe in shoving their views down anybodies throats because it's totally unimportant.

I wish he'd just shut up and stop attracting attention to himself and his opponents.

And while I'm on about it, why is it everytime anything about religion or god is mentioned, some evangelical born-again atheist has to witter on about "imaginary friends"? You're as bad as those Christian types who say things "and that reminds me of what our Lord said".

        Get over yourselves.
Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!

The knuckle for my index finger is out of place by 2 cm and the finger is rotated by 30 deg, I guess that science hasn't got round to the "Lining things up and putting them back on straight bit yet" (Ie. copy the other hand or look at your own for a clue

                    hmm, so they say
ask them how life started in the first place and you'll get either an awkward silence or some bs about an experiment which basically showed it just doesn't start from non-life by itself, all expressed in that we-got-it-all-figured-out tone

Sounds like a particularly serious injury you had there In the old days this might have entailed faith followed by gangrene. Presumably it was science that got you there in the first place though, manifesting itself in the form of a power tool?
