I too, am curious to know what a .Net Administrator does, if only to enlighten me

Gentlemen, we have this every time MBs contract is due to end.

Every year without fail we get the "Oh dear, nearly at the end.", "What am I going to do?" posts and then minutes before the deadline we get a post telling us how brilliant his client thinks he is and how he's got a major rate increase to stay.

Milan, you could give lessons to Threaded!

It's a highly technical role that involves ensuring that the tapes get put back in the correct box and that the date is written correctly and clearly on the label.

The afternoon is spent reseting users' passwords to "initial"

I believe there's a course you can do to learn all this.

Did you know the newer releases now allow longer passwords, the vendor of the package now offer training in how to enter 9 and even 10 character long passwords.

Milan, are you going to wing it or go on the training ?

You must have had Special training to be eligible for the course!
Or been to a Special school ?

                  Diver,

I can see, with such an attitude, you wouldn't fit in in the .Net world.

In .Net we commoditise and capitalise on everything.

There are pre-requisites otherwise you cannot finish all the coursework in time.

The mandatory level one courses cover basic mouse funtionality and keyboard management skills.

Level two progresses into more specialist areas including "why pulling out the plug is a bad way to shutdown"

Level 3 (tape storage and label management) has a multiple choice test at the end before certification.

It's these high entry barriers that keep riff-raff out.
