Love em, but they are never done right in most chippies. Down south they are crap.
They need to be made from quality dried marrowfat peas, properly soaked. Not too much bicarb.
Then as said earlier a little mint and vinegar. Smashing.I am not qualified to give the above advice!

I love mushy peas, despite being a southerner. Mind you, I was introduced to them by a yorkshireman.
I would never countenance putting gravy on chips though. That is just wrong.
