Alright Bagpuss/tay/others - I'm just going to stick my neck out here a bit - I'm not sure where you guys get all this ammo and the assent to slate Lucy so much. Sure, she's an outspoken and sensitive character on the board - but I don't think it warrants any kind of persistent 'mobbing' or personal attacks.
.
Oh get stuffed. If Lucy wants to strut around making snide comments she has to expect some thrown back at her, and you can stick your 'holier than thou' knight in shining armour routine up where the sun dont shine. If you are gonna go into bat for her, I suggest you actually pay a bit more attention to the vitriol and stirring she does, before sticking your oar in.
Fair point about not paying attention before butting in - but my issue is with sniping in general... and applies to everyone, Myself & Lucy included.
This:
Is just bollox - I've never been 'holier than thou'. Think before you type. There's no need to get aggressive with me either.
You were aggresive yourself, even if you dont recognise it in your original post. You stick your nose in and try and tell others off, you can get told where to go.
if you dont want to be told what I think of it, dont adress your silly concerns about Lucy's feelings towards me.

By all means have a dig at each other in the heat of the moment and in the relevant thread, but keep it at that, not a campaign of disparagement.
Frankly, you don't know her well enough to be judging her in this way. None of us do. It's an online community and you'll only ever see a small facet of someone's personality here - not enough to cast sweeping judgements IMHO - snaw is correct in his assumption above.
I think you will find I get the abuse directed at me first. Surely I have a right to reply?
Additionally, I'm not the one getting upset by someone giving as good as they get back.
Of course you have. I probably haven't read the threads where this has happened. Nonetheless, it doesn't do anyone any favours to extend the abuse outside that thread. All I'm seeing is out-of-context flaming, which isn't very healthy.
There - in a nutshell, that's exactly what I wanted to say. Cheers, I think we could all make an effort to avoid just that.
'aggressive'? Where?
'stick your nose in'? What do you mean, have an opinion?
'tell others off' I'm not sure that's what I did - it certainly wasn't in the spirit of what I was trying to say - which was that personal and persistent haranguing isn't very healthy or constructive, for anyone, not just the recipient. In this case Lucy happened to be the catalyst for statements applying to us all, for the benefit of us all. Statements which I think are reasonable, and will be happy to debate with you.
This is why I use terms like 'each other', 'someone's personality', 'online community', and 'we could all make an effort'.
I have no problems with you telling me what you think, but there's no need to be insulting or aggressive towards me, or to call my concerns silly without justifying yourself. I 'can get told where to go'? Really? Ok then, if you like, but I don't feel that you do yourself any favours by behaving like that.
