If the Lib dems don't field a candidate, what's to say that labour will?

It would be a fairly pointless protest by election if the other parties don't bother to stand.

It would be fairly funny if the Official Monster Raving Loonies got in.

I don't think they have any option except to stand, and to lose miserably.

His statement made the most sense of anything I've heard in a long time. Not sure about the by-election thing but something that puts the views he made in his statement into the public consciousness is worthwhile.

Is anyone else considering getting out of the uk due to the worsening economy and ridiculous government meddling interfering ever more into our lives?

Things will plainly get worse before they get better. Im thinking of being somewhere else for a year or two, consider coming back when the tories start re-building this mess.

I'm not convinced that public opinion is against the 42 day legislation. Consider the Sun readers out there, the very same who beat up a paediatrician a few years back. I'm sure they wouldn't mind holding suspected terrorists for as long as it takes...

Probably right - Ask a bunch outside Tescos and most would not recognise Habeus Corpus if it sneaked behind them and bit them in the bum!

Most of them probably believe all the hype and junk about this new terrorist groups - despite the Eniskillen's and Bishopsgate and Canary Wharf bombs during the Irish troubles.

Most people get there information from the Sun which does not hold out much hope that they will put two brain cells together and realise what a pile of rubbish they are being force fed each day.

The political editor from the Sun is on question time tonight. It might be interesting to see in Labour get a verbal kicking from him. I wasn't aware that there was a political editor in the sun. He must be way down the pecking order when compared to the big brother correspondent and the tits editor in chief.
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

                I preferred version 1!

Today, the day after the most appalling decision on civil liberties and a sell out from the government, the sun ran with a front page of "robbie williams brings cellar girl out of coma". I mean FFS.
