And before anyone decides to have a name calling session for me being on the dole - I was in Yorkshire - in the 80s and applied for EVERY job I could for 9 months before I finally got a permanent job - and only managed to get 2 temp jobs in that time. It was tough and demoralising

During the 80s, when I was in Uni, we used to sign on the dole during the summer holidays. They soon stopped that, though after I'd graduated anyway.

No wonder they can't get off benefits. One guy interviewed complained "it just wasn't worth getting a job". No the Poles can do that! While the lazy and increasingly obese local population can sit eating KFC and 'raise' knife wielding hoodies. The local teacher interviewed " the role models for the children don't work, they don't have any relatives who have worked, they think stealing motorbikes and cars is normal"

Re the stealing motorbikes: I was quoting a teacher of a local school who spoke on this BBC interview about the children she has to work with.
