If you decide to scrounge as a career rather than work then yes you are in my book a scumbag who has decided to drop out of responsible society. I suppose you think it's ok to take take take and give nothing back? apart from raise some feral kids who cause havoc and again contribute nothing to society. Do you think working class people support these actions? Because if you do, you are living in cloud cuckoo land.

The other two points are your own.
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

sure, fine, but that's not what you originally wrote.

sorry, i was just being silly, resorting to self-parody with a couple of Mrs T quotes. unfortunately Lucy has got all confused and thinks it's about busses and stuff.

If you're paraphrasing Thatch, I think it was anyone over the age of 30.

I got the bus on Sunday, but then I'm 29

I'm failing to see what your point is, the use of scumbag estates was not meant to mean everyone who lives there is a scumbag, I just have a problem with the non working underclass. The tax system should work better for those who want to work, but it shouldn't reward the lazy who don't. Let's pull the working class out of poverty by not taxing them so heavily, the lazy can't and shouldn't expect >18k a year IMO. If you can work but don't you deserve to be in 'poverty', although it's anything but.

Maybe it's time to define a new "benefit-class" in order to give them a kicking.

if people want to drop out of the rat-race and decide that the traditional work-ethic is bullsh!t, i for one do not mind subsidising them within reasonable limits. partly because i reckon it's a perfectly legitimate lifestyle choice, and partly because it winds up whining tax bores like you lot.

fine - and let's raise the minimum wage while we're at it. being paid **** all at a preferential rate of income tax still adds up to **** all.
