Is the cut for all at RBS (including those from ABN)?
Can't say I've heard anything about this. I keep my head down right enough

as far as I'm aware recruitment for Integration is carrying on as planned

If it were me I'd accept the rate reduction and then invoke my substitution clause and send in some useless git in my place.

Do you think they'd fall for it again DP?
Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyone

Probably not. 10% of not much is not much.

At the Bank am working at, they had a major restructure programme (also known as get rid of as many permies as you can) permies were asked to re-apply for their posts, and if they got the post they had to re-do probation period.. at the end of the period either party can say good bye.... many many many permies gone, now the majority of the change management department is staffed by contractors or consultants!!

Times of major upheaval, restructuring and perestroika are great for contractors. It's when companies stop lurching between mass layoffs that we've got to worry.

Though on a related note: 10-15 years ago all the big IT projects were about sacking loads of admin staff and putting software and databases in their place. Have I just personally moved away from that kind of thing, or have all the loseable administrators been lost now?

By Admin do you mean PMOs etc? There are a few attached to each project nowadays... have no idea why the PM can't do the stuff PMO is doing..
