1. Global warming isn't actually happening (i.e. no temperature rises in the last decade).
2. Even if 1. isn't true, then there's no real evidence to suggest it's going to be that bad anyway (e.g. recent government figures show an increase in temperature would mean an increase in heat related deaths, but a greater decrease in cold related deaths - a net gain).
3. Even if 1 and 2 aren't true, then to try to avoid it would do far more damage than accepting it, especially to the developing world where denying them the benefits of affordable energy and transportation will harm economic growth, keeping them in poverty and having far worse consequences for health and general well-being than a small increase in temperature ever could.
