I heard from someone who converted theirs, that it's great for a while, until you have to have the whole engine overhauled - a lot more often than with petrol or diesel.

I got a VW Polo 1.4 converted when I bought it, and sold it at 120,000 miles with the engine still running great (sold because it was LHD and it wasn't worth the cost to register in the UK). Meanwhile it was close to free to run.

I'm just curious as to why so few people convert their cars if it’s so good? By my very rough guesses from autotrader data only 0.06% of petrol cars run on LPG, saying that a quick glance at the cars for sale does have an unusually high proportion of V8's!!
