    do contracts have notice periods?
For example, it's s 3 month contract but you want to leave with 2 weeks notice randomly at some point, can that be done?

Depends. Most don't allow the contractor to quit but do allow the client to "fire" you.

What I mean is, is it legal under contract law?
For exampe, to say to someone you are not allowed to leave us. What if you had personal reasons or just didn't want to work there anymore?

Prime example of IR35 fodder old boy.

You've come right out the other side of the forest of irony and ended up in the desert of wrong.
