I am intrigued that you think a German run of the mill saloon car maker is a better badge than a Honda. I appreciate that Honda is generally identified as an old persons car (should be plenty of owneres on here) but their sporting selection of cars are strongly identified with their F1 engineering.

Part of the key to being cool is to identify an uncommon (mercs audis and BMs are generally common) gem in the middle of blandness (honda S2000) naffness (Mondeo great car in a naff brand) or commonness (Audi R8 where most mercs, audis and BMWs are bought by people who cannot see beyond image, which in itself is as naff as it gets)

It is. That's the advantage of having the cash.

The question "How much will it cost me to take that off your forecourt?" helps too.

That's the problem with a lot of you IT bods, you can't negotiate for toffee.

you are of course reasonably correct. However have you driven a boxster S? (standard boxster doesn't count) the S is a different car from the standard one a lot more focused. I havd driven an S2000 whilst looking to get the Boxster and I'm afraid having to rev the nuts of a car doesn't do it for me point in case being the Type R civic I had for 6 months after getting fed up doing that and with the chavs in their saxos trying to race you at every set of lights

fair enough. I couldnt bear the "cant afford a 911" image of the boxster or the fact that they are so common.

Not at all sir!!! bought my HD Road King with the same sort of wording. As he had three others in the same colour and at the wrong time of year. Told the dealer I could get one down sarf!!! for a Bargin and had free transport to go get it.... Result I got it for what he paid Harley for it he in turn got a slap and told to pack his bags deal still gets talked about to this day in the same dealers and that was 7 years ago.

Yeah well I can't part with my 2 Harley's and my Honda VFR love bikes to much otherwise it would've been a
911 CS so I had to compromise. If I sold both harleys tomorow let just say I'd not be buying a second hand 911

And as far as the "can't afford a 911" image lots of Porsche owners seem to forget if it wasn't for the boxster there currently wouldn't be any Porsche.

There is a same argument in the Harley fraternity if you drive a Sportster you can't afford the real thing.... what utter tosh last time I checked the Sportster is made by harley same goes for the Porsche and it's Boxster that and the fact were all interested in the same thing.... Engines and going fast
