They might try that one - but to have any success, they'll need to get the £/Euro exchange rate back to what it was 3 years ago, so the Central Europeans would want to come back.

      Well

If you look at the situation objectively, everybody was up in arms about immigration and surely the market is more effective than any government at actually rectifying the situation.

Under New Liebour nobody is unemployed, they're all "unfit to work" for some crappy medical reason or other.

Increase minimum wage so that there is no reason to be long term unemployed if laziness is the only option.

One Herefordshire farmer faces the loss of strawberries worth £200,000
Simple answer. Increase their pay. So what if he only makes 100K, instead of 200K ? He's still in business and now has a labour force again (and a well paid one at that..who have more income to plough back in to the economy)
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

32% - So yes there is.

ClientCo employs 400 odd agency staff. Roughly £11 per hour with agency markup. So agency gets £3+ for each hour worked.

Thats close to £9k a day. I don't know many rec consultants bringing in 9k a day in the IT game.
