Yes it is a Pharma role, pretty sick of Pharma, but escape routes don't seem to be forthcoming unless I go back permie first

Years since I was a pharma contractor but it seems to me its a tad recession-proof as they can't suddenly pull the plug on Phase 2/3 projects. I guess you aren't working in clinical trials - or am I wrong and has clinical trial work also died?
Am curious as given how things are tanking everywhere I had always thought pharma always kept bearing up and might be a safe haven

Cheers all, yes it is clinical trails, but it has dried up a bit many seem to be using cheap CROs instead of on site contractors.

4 months off Sal (I intended 1 or 2 off), last time my market was this dry it was 2003.

Just had to negotiate with an agent for a contract I sourced, oh well only £1 p/h less than last time, still I hate going down in rate

I'm getting that already. Thoughts of going back permie are also entering my mind.

I am enjoying having some extended time off though. Just have to keep reminding myself something is just around the corner and resist the devils invitation to sell my soul.

... Rates seem to have tipped a bit. Still 10% down is better than earning nothing and slowly emptying the company account!

I am no statistician but that = £9 per hour down from £10 per hour
