And, I've been told, a very nice person - very down to earth, doesn't think she's something special because of her success, and so on.
Although I've not actually met her myself - she wandered past my desk one day but I was busy debugging some XSLT and only realised she'd been there when I eventually got distracted by my nerdish colleagues and the broadcasters discussing her
A bit like the time I chivvied some young women out of the way when they got between me and the coffee machine, and found out later that they were the Sugababes
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
