Chico? Are you reading a kiddies bible?

This is yet another example of a card-carrying member taking everything literally. No ifs, no buts... no debate. Yes, of course, mustn't upset your belief system with common sense, eh?

    Let's take this:

Leviticus 20:10 And the man that committeth adultery with [another] man's wife, [even he] that committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.

Deuteronomy 20:13 And when the LORD thy God hath delivered it into thine hands, thou shalt smite every male thereof with the edge of the sword:

So you see, oh blinkered one, that the definition is murder, not killing. There is a difference. Sadly, you lot are to wrapped up in your alpha courses to see this of course...
If you think my attitude stinks, you should smell my fingers.

Have a read of this passage from the bible:

Suppose you hear in one of the towns the LORD your God is giving you that some worthless rabble among you have led their fellow citizens astray by encouraging them to worship foreign gods. In such cases, you must examine the facts carefully. If you find it is true and can prove that such a detestable act has occurred among you, you must attack that town and completely destroy all its inhabitants, as well as all the livestock. Then you must pile all the plunder in the middle of the street and burn it. Put the entire town to the torch as a burnt offering to the LORD your God. That town must remain a ruin forever; it may never be rebuilt. Keep none of the plunder that has been set apart for destruction. Then the LORD will turn from his fierce anger and be merciful to you. He will have compassion on you and make you a great nation, just as he solemnly promised your ancestors. "The LORD your God will be merciful only if you obey him and keep all the commands I am giving you today, doing what is pleasing to him." (Deuteronomy 13:13-19 NLT)

Erm I am missing something here - is that a commandment or a punishment? Thou shall not kill - Commandment. Full stop. Under the Law of Moses if you commit certain heinous crimes - death. That is a punishment. Big difference.

I'm curious then as to who actually performs the punishment killing. It obviously can't be a Christian, as they have been commanded not to kill, so do they subcontract the killing to another religion?

Ok so are you saying that the passage quoted below in bible on how to treat followers of other religions should be ignored?

That would be an ecumenical matter...

Do you really want a commentary on Deuteronomy? Eh? Do you - because I can give it if you want. Under the Law of Moses how does the passage you quoted contradict the first commandment. Do you know what the first commandment is? Lol you make me laugh. Do yourself justice and read the whole Bible. Don’t show your ignorance by picking bits out trying to prove your erroneous point.
