Hold on, AtW. That's also valid for you. Only in your case is because you are a geek.
I've seen much of the rest of the world. It is brutal and cruel and dark, Rome is the light.

Although nobody would have anticipated the scale of the present problems at the time, large scale immigration by any group with a fundamentally different culture and without a commitment to adopt the values of the country they come to is always a mistake. If anyone disagrees, perhaps they can point to a single country in recent or past history where it has worked. If the incomers are succesful (eg Fiji, Uganda, Kenya) it creates resentment among the native population. If they are not (blacks in just about Western country) they become a resentful and often criminal underclass. Our current society was an idiocy inflicted on us by successive undemocratic and short-termist governments in defiance of the wishes of the great majority of the population.

That said, it would be unjust, not to mention totally unpractical, to "send back" British citizens. Who would take them?, apart from the most westernised and educated, ie the very ones we would least like to lose. Who is going to say who is British enough and who isn't. Some Asians I know (admittedly not well) are typically British geezers, should they go back as well?

We need to avoid continuing to make the same mistakes with a proper immigration policy (few in numbers, highly skilled/rich, English speaking, with a Western secular outlook). If we do that, time will eventually take care of the rest.

"Large scale" immigration does not work even if there is a "commitment to adopt the values of the country" because rarely is the receiveing countrys population willing to receive and accept them into their society as equals, ESPECIALLY if they are of a different phisical aprearance

Not all -- groups of people who immigrated to USA were pretty different, all or mainly Europeans though.

They were all also pretty disastrous and despised underclasses in their time. Have you forgotten Al Capone? Then there were the stupid Micks, the dumb Poles, the Chinks who (at one time) could be shot with little complaint by anyone. If all of these seem like good Americans now, it is only because one or two centuries have worked their miracles.

The blacks have been there for 300 years, the miracle never has worked for most of them. In the end, it can be perceived difference that matters, ie skin colour. This is most unfair in many ways, West Indians in Britain are among the most inclusive and flexible newcomers we have have ever had.

LoL, read american social history some time. It's littered with examples of it not working and there they had loads of room to spread out and virtually no one except the indians are the native population (and they got it the worst) could really say "this is my country more than yours" (not that that stopped them)

Still is to this day, though is getting bit better but its taking generations.
