I watched a well spoken Muslim guy interviewed on HardTalk the other night. Sorry can't remember his name.
He came across as someone who wanted to genuinely contribute toward solving the terrorist problem.
One remark he made that rang true to me was that many young British Muslims tend to live a kind of split personality life. At home their elders (who tended to be economic migrants) expect them to behave as Muslims but out of the home, socially or at work they prefer to behave as Brits.
I have no difficulties in a multi-racial society. But I'm far from sold on the multi-culture society model.

Must have passed you by JG, but the London bombers were all born here, and from what I understand some were working (I only know of the one who was a teacher, can't say for the rest).
The new ones we know nothing about. If we're gonna beat these guys then we have to understand what they are, jumping to conclusions based on pre-concieved stereotypes won't help our cause.
I never said they weren't born here I just gave my opinion as to the effects of immigration on the UK v the States.
Most of the newspapers today - attempted bombers last week - living on benefits for years.

I think that the reason multiculturalism appears to work in the States is because it is a huge country with enough room for everybody - we are a very small island and we are extremely over-populated. Everyone likes their own space and it is human nature to become disgruntled if we don't get it. I also think that immigration should be controlled to only allow people who will be of benefit to the country (unless they are genuinely under threat of death in their own country) The London bombers had been happily living off benefits for years before trying to blow us all up. The other thing I don't understand is that, if they are so determined to live according to strict Muslim law, then why come to a country that is primarily non-muslim?

Still a pointless excersise.
Simply put the damage we would do to this country if we sent 'back' every non white, british person would be incalculable on any level; whether it be politicical, economic or cultural. Plus I somehow doubt that this would negate us being a target for terrorists, not too mention history would, I think, consider us on a par with Nazi Germany and Apartheid South Africa.

I agree that they cant use that as an excuse...however...that doesnt mean they wont!

The English class system is largely a relic of the past. With very few exceptions, getting a job and making money has nothing to do with social class. Muslims can't use that as an excuse for blowing themselves up.
Haven't seen too many South American cleaners bombing London trains.

The main difference between America and England is that at least the Americans judge you on your potential future. Why else have there been no bombings by radical muslims in the states (the home of the great satan)? Simply because their muslims feel they have a future (and most probably most of the bad ones were exported to England

Immigration can be successful. The Jews managed to successful integrate into British society after arriving in the 1880s.

Originally posted by AtWUSA is the only superpower and its country of immigrants. They still get loads of immigrants from Mexico and other countries -- it seems to work pretty well there.
The mexicans are still treated as an underclass.
Middle America is populated by retards whose only form of education in many cases is Jerry Springer.

They were all also pretty disastrous and despised underclasses in their time. Have you forgotten Al Capone? Then there were the stupid Micks, the dumb Poles, the Chinks who (at one time) could be shot with little complaint by anyone. If all of these seem like good Americans now, it is only because one or two centuries have worked their miracles.
The blacks have been there for 300 years, the miracle never has worked for most of them. In the end, it can be perceived difference that matters, ie skin colour. This is most unfair in many ways, West Indians in Britain are among the most inclusive and flexible newcomers we have have ever had.
