Everyone needs to chill.

The problem is that the roads are simply waaaaaaaay too overcrowded. We need to get at least 50% of the vehicles off the road:

1. Raise the min drivers age to 21 and the top age to 70.
2. Force EVERY driver to resit the driving test every 5 years and have a "fee" of £1000 to retake it.
3. Increase fuel duty and road tax into the £10K level pa.

Driving is way too cheap and there are too many cars on the road. Get them off the roads.

Indeed. Not many ladies would pass now they have reverse parallel parking in the test. Perhaps that would be a good thing?

My dad's uncle never indicated, on the grounds that it wore down your battery.

Pensioners in 4x4s etc. and cars that are clearly too powerful for them to handle.

People who don't indicate (it's not difficult).

People who can't make up their mind which lane they want to be in on the motorway so just sort of drift around in the middle.

Why should not indicating cause them to crash? My experience is that many drivers find using the idicators a major challenge, so increasing their likelihood of being involved in a collision.
