I was in a lovely off-piste area, loads of deep powder. There was a series of step-like 6 foot drops, which I'd really enjoyed going over the previous day. Unfortunately on this day, someone had built a little ramp at the bottom of the last drop, which wasn't visible from the top. I hit it, shot up into the air, and landed hard. I did try to twist, to take the impact on my side, but it all happened too fast. All I managed to do was be bruised more on one side than the other.

Schnapps and ibuprofen kept things under control for the rest of my holiday. But at work, I can only really use the latter.

But I'm not complaining - nothing's broken, and I was able to continue skiing.

I wouldn't hold your breath ... I been snowboarding 16 years, inc two seasons and can maybe land a handful of 360's a year. One of my mates who is the dogs bollocks - done plenty of seasons and can do inverts etc hasn't ever landed one (Seen him try plenty and land a far few 540's).

          They're a wee bit tough ...

Ouchy ouch ouch. Was anybody videoing?

At least you've managed 20 days skiing this year - I've ridden about 4 days.

Sadly, there was no video. I think it would have looked quite spectacular. There was a snowboarded who saw the whole thing, and she came over to see if I was ok - she looked really worried.

Yep - 20 days so far. and it's still snowing in the mountains, so there's a few more days left.
