Precisely, but who do you think pays for 100% of the education, 100% of child support while also paying maint for the ex and renting yourself a house? So long as you can afford all that until the youngest leaves full time education, you're a better man than me. And richer. Or maybe your wife won't expect to sit on her bum for ever more doing SFA and complaining how poor she is while you pay for everything. But don't bet on that.

I pay for everything now anyway so there wouldn't be any difference!

Aren't these one and the same thing? You're obliged to look after your kids but not pay for the ex's gin nights/shopping obsession right?

My ex-wife was honest - she told me straight that she wanted enough money off me for her not to work.
