Got my Focus - the thing handles better than an A3

Still cannot believe I got a top of the range diesel for only £12K.

Not quite the 3 series I have aspired to, but, may bget that as a permie company car at some point while the newbie wannabes are filing for divorce and doing bangernomics

Seriously, why people spend £20K plus really does beat me, cannot believe the car I got for my money.

Whatever happened to "fungus", who used to post here about his pride and joy - a Ford Ka

Probably got fed up with people like me taking the mick.

For some reason it reminds me of the robots in Id Software's first game Commander Keen (part 5)

Why don't they make decent platform games any more? I'm all for high-tech first-person perspective shootem ups like Quake 4, but sometimes it would be nice to just mess around with something like Keen again. (Can't get the perisher to work on my PC now - It just freezes.)

I still play Wolfenstein 3D occasionally.

I have a saved game where there is a line of German guards just around a corner and I can just walk up behind them and either waste them one by one with the dagger or minigun them all at once.

I save that for when I am especially pissed off.

God yes, I remember that well (got the source somewhere too - Id Software release all their sources after the next generation engines are released). But it did get slightly monotonous at times, all being on one level and with only square corners.

I played "Return to Castle Wolfenstein" for a while, which is on my PC at home, but am ashamed to say couldn't find my way out of the first level! Didn't try too hard though, as I don't have time to play much these days.

I believe the square corners thing was because they were limited to using raycasting rather than raytracing, due to the performance limitations of the hardware of the day.

I remember reading an excellent article explaining the raycasting algorithm in Dr Dobbs Journal - I bought that issue in a newsagents in Dorchester the day before the 50th anniversary of Hiroshima, so it must have been 1995.

You'll be looking forward to the (finally) imminent release of Manhunt 2 in the UK then?

A mate of mine got a PS3 in anticipation, but has only recently found out they're only releasing it on PS2 (WTF!?), and his PS3 isn't one of the older PS2 compatible ones. or you decide.
Feist - 1234. One camera, one take, no editing. Superb. How they did it

There's medication for that nowadays. I believe they call it Microsoft .Net, for dumbing down the geek factor. Still doesn't get me laid though.

I'm still of the opinion that hookers are much cheaper in the long term

                    Much better ROI
