Corporation tax will fall from 38% to 28% by April this year, he said.

= plenty of savings for the big donators then

Mr Darling said there will be simpler taxes for small companies.

= nasty theiving devious contractor scum are gonna get it big time.

        So, as expected then.

Not until April 2009. Where did this habit of announcing these changes 1 yr in advance come from ? Shallow political point scoring.

By 2011, every school "will be an improving school".
So his plan for 2008-2010 is to make them so tulip that they simply have to open to improve.

It's so that in next years budget he can re-announce the measures making it sound better.

He has already regurgitated some of El Gordo's stuff from last year

There will be £200m extra for schools to raise GCSE results, the chancellor said. By 2011, every school "will be an improving school". There will be a £30m fund to improve science.

ie. GCSE grades will be rebanded to A**, A*, A, etc.

Not quite - it doesn't come in until April 2009...
