You are only agreeing with Sas coz he's a bully and picks on you.
If only it were that easy to shut him up
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.
But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”
Bloody hell, I agree with SASguru. Can I add, she insisted on foisting the monerterism experiment on the UK and hence boom and bust. Even it's inventor (Milton Friedman) now admits it doesn't work.
All she insisted on was common sense housekeeping and focusing on areas where Britain could compete. 10 years ago Britain was one of the best placed economies in the world - not her fault if Liebour f**ked it up.
She was a strong leader, who made some mistakes but generally sorted the UK out, I wish she was in charge now.
She knew that to spend money you had to encourage enterprise and not screw the small businesses that create wealth. Labour still have not learnt this, when they evetually get turfed out they will leave the economy much the poorer.
"The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance." Cicero
Yep - she definately made a difference up here...some people are still getting over it.
How much time do you need? She left office 18 years ago.
I have distant memories of the 70's and it was rubbish. Power cuts and strikes
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.
Sorry to spoil the Maggie love-fest but a few of the problems the country faces now can be traced back to her, like:
- the destruction of manufacturing industry
- the "selfish" ideal that led directly to chav culture and the "me me me" society
- the materialistic attitude that has driven the debt-fuelled economy of recent times
And although she made a difference at the time, I doubt her legacy will remain. Her legacy keeps people like you in work
Hence I vote for andyw
She should have kept the proles in their place eh? How dare they buy their own homes and be forced to work in the private sector? the state knows best.

I have never really understood this tired cliche that Maggie left a "me" "me" legacy. If what is meant is that the "me's" switched from being the trade unions and the socialists (what more "me" is there than the rest of the country supporting failing industries that were under the control of those "caring" unions) to individuals and especially working class individuals who no longer had to live in "state" homes and rely on "state" jobs, then If I were Maggie I would stick my hand up to that.
Remember Maggie came to power precisely to deal with the "me" culture of the cruel and selfish left.
Between her and Reagan the nail was finally hammered down onto the socialist coffin. The communist bloc collapsed, with even the blind left having to accept the horrors of communism. Maggie exposed socialism as the cancer it really was. Even today socialism has no moral, intellectual or economic integrity as thanks to her we can see how our taxes are spent on supporting what is left of the socialist model of control. That are taxes are not spent for the benefit of the people that they should be spent on.
People like Bagpuss and SAS, (confused lefties who cannot ultimately let go) console themselves with this ridiculous "me, me" cliche. The truth that lies behind it is the same old guilt and snobbery. But instead of celebrating the fact that many more people can enter their priviliged little world (thanks to Maggie) of free capitalism, deep down they feel that these people should be kept down the mines.
Never mind boys there is still enough "old socialism" around to keep more than enough poor people trapped in their nasty little world of welfare. You are still higher in the pecking order than many.

How nice it must be to live in a simple black and white world. One side is completely right and so the alternative is totally wrong.
Perhaps it's because I work in the really capitalist environment of the city that I am qualified to judge its failures. Which everyone is going to feel really soon.

How evasive

There'll be champagne corks popping thoughout the North once she finally carks it, which says it all really.
Poisonous woman who tore apart whole communities. The same people who say we would be a 3rd world nation if it wasn't for her refuse to accept that she also has to take the blame for many of the current social problems we face, hypocricy in the extreme.
Keep wearing the blue tinted spectacle. As long as you're OK thats all that matters I suppose. Jack can take a running jump.
