I do not think we need protecting from her. We have got rid of her once and would happily do it again.

I find it a bit ironic that she was banned for asking you guys to implement the T&Cs.
Flaming the stupid and lazy is quite acceptable, but I do believe soem people are bringing down teh sensible threads.

If being rude and abusive regularly is a crime then a lot more of us should be banned....

I appreciate you do not need protecting but there was so much noise being caused on the forum by Denny that I felt I could not allow her rants to continue. To then see the thread spelling out how we should run the forum was the last straw. We may not implement the terms and conditions to the letter all the time but what kind of place would this be if we did that?

She was not banned for asking us to implement the terms and conditions, she was banned for trying to tell us she knew better than us how the board should be run. We are lenient on here, we do enjoy the flaming of newbies from time to time and she had been here long enough to know that. As I said in another post she even emailed me to say I should make her post a sticky as a warning to people who flame newbies!

We do try and keep sensible threads on topic. "No. Next." Is not helpful and we do tell people this and delete posts where we can but this is a really busy forum and it does take time to review posts and try and keep some semblance of order.

Not a real "flame" in sight. Malvolio being a bit OTT as he sometimes is on the VAT one, comments like RTFM are not helpful but honestly, asking what money coming in would be vatable and how you differentiate is a bit of a silly question and shows that they really have not done their research.

There is a lot of excellent advice given on this forum, topics may wander but that is the way this forum is.

Your second statement is over-ruled by your first, calling me a "hole of a backside" is hardly polite is it?

As it was, Denny had a lot of good things to say and only came in to conflict with the holes in the backside that, all too frequently, inhabit this forum.

She also came out with a lot of stuff that a lot of sensible people on here disagreed with.

Also, isnt this the height of cowardice, taking the pee out of someone who cant even reply? Surely mods, if you were doing your job you would have shut this and every other thread down that relates to denny's banning...because by letting threads like this continue you are only reinforcing denny's perception of bias from the mods on this forum.

In what way am I "taking the pee"? Apart from alluding to the fact that she may have been a bit of a booze hound as her most offensive posts came in the evening I have hardly poked fun at her.

We shut threads down we get moaned at, we leave them run we get moaned at. We are in a no-win situation. Whatever we do is wrong in someone's eyes.

I haven't been paying close attention to this - but I just read the threads concerned - and it is somewhat ironic that someone complaining about personal attacks should then proceed to personally attack several members in their following posts.

It's a balance - we've been here before on several occasions. The board T&Cs are quite straightforward - and technically, half the people on this board would be banned if they were enforced completely. It is a judgement call, and you get to know the posters on a forum such as this to understand when they're joking around or being seriously abusive - much as in any social situation.

The mods have to make that judgement call - not a job many of us would be envious of when things get contentious. But at the end of the day, it's their board, and they don't have to justify anything to anyone, we trust them to be able to discern the mirth from the malice - it seems the decisions are made largely around 'does this drag the board down or not', and I believe they've been accurate so far.

Mailman has a point about disrespectfully gossiping about someone who can't now defend herself, just out of common decency this is something we would do well to observe. Debate? Sure.
