Everytime I get a response like that, I look at my CV and think what's wrong. I must have been through it 20 times. I dunno if its the two timeline breaks in it...or that half the CV is with Canadian companies - and maybe they never heard of Canada - or that I started in C++, then moved to ASP/SQL Server, then Oracle with some Access.Originally posted by SandyDown View PostIf you are getting a response of ‘interesting CV’ then there is something seriously not right with your CV, have someone look at it and critique it!!
Anyway, permie is over and done for me. I'm over 40 anyway - not that I put that on my CV. I'm hunting for freelance work now. Perhaps one day I'll find something.McCoy: "Medical men are trained in logic."

Sounds like you need to be more flexible on location.Originally posted by lilelvis2000 View PostEverytime I get a response like that, I look at my CV and think what's wrong. Yep, you're stuffed.
Last time I saw Oracle it came on a pile of 50 or so floppy disks. Glad I wasn't the one lumbered with installing that lot!Feist - 1234. One camera, one take, no editing. Superb. How they did it

As a northerner that's usually the only way I get any contracts. I've tried holding out for stuff closer to home (despite the big difference in rates) but always give in to temptation and back down south I go.Originally posted by oracleslave View PostSounds like you need to be more flexible on location.Feist - 1234. It's a well worn bench that one.
I know people who have dedicated their professional careers to Oracle, strange as it may seem. At least they don't have to keep re-training every 3 years to keep up with the latest tool-sets. For that reason maybe I should have stuck with COBOL. Skills for life.Feist - 1234. One camera, one take, no editing. Superb. How they did it
