    Time for a new phone

My current deal runs out at the end of the week. The last two phones I have had have been Sony Ericsson ones, the last being the k800i cybershot thing. I'm getting a bit sick of them as their joysticks tend to fail pretty quickly. So what recommendations do you lot have? I've looked at the N95 and like the idea of a phone which can do Sat Nav and I'm up for mobile internet (t-mobile do it for £7.5 per month)

I don't want a touch screen one as my son wouldn't be able to use it - which is important if anything ever happens to me.
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

    I preferred version 1!

Forget the N95, it's so slow !! I could live with it at first but after 8 months it just gets on my norks.

I even updated the software which made it slightly worse.

The satnav service isn't cheap (£8 a month? + data charges), it takes a few minutes to get a signal when the line of sight is good. Ergo, it never gets used.

What about the new Apple thing ?

No can't do touch screen - as I said the little guy has to be able to use it and as he is blind it rules out touch screen phones.

Could you not just make sure you've set up voice dialling?
It's about time I changed this sig...

my last phone was the sony ericsson w810i, "upgraded" to the new K850i and got sick of having to globally reset it
Back to the w810i now, its possibly the best phone i've ever used.
You can pick them up pretty cheap now so all you need on top of that is the SIM only deal

Yep. Magic phone. Wouldn't change it for anything at the moment.

Noooo.... I have an N95 and I love it!

The "operator branded" software is complete carp and it's painfully slow, but get it unlocked and you can put the latest "unbranded" nokia firmware on and then it runs like a dream!

As for the sat nav, I use the Garmin Mobile XT software on it which uses the internal GPS receiver and therefore no extra charges are incurred (as it's standalone). I've used it a couple of times in London when I'm in unfamiliar territory. Been a godsend.

The N82 looks ok though, anyone got one of those yet?

My vote goes to the N95 as well - just remove the Operator software and upgarde the firmware and bobs your uncle...

Got one, 5h1te. Doesn't lock properly, phones and texts people from my pocket, back falls off, camera sucks, media player too. Its ok for apps and texts or email, average for browsing and below average at making and receiving calls.
