They last 2 SonyEricsson phones I have had have both had problems with their joysticks - k800i and the orange and white walkman phone (can't remember the name)
-
SonyEricsson w810i is superb (no 3G though) - I love mine.
Just got a Sony Ericsson w960i and putting it through its paces. So far .... I love it !!

Cheers for all the comments. I'm still tempted to go for the N95 but will try to get the newer 8gb one

It's branded Vodafone BTW.
Most mobile shops will unlock them and they'll usually de-brand as well if you ask nicely! There are people on eBay doing return by post service, but I guess it depends on how much you trust people!
The "branded versions" of firmware are usually a few revisions behind the "normal" nokia firmware too.
I promise you once you've got the latest regular firmware on, you'll be blown away!

Runs sweet with the real Nokia software on. The difference is astonishing, it's like a different phone.

I got my phone unlocked when I was having an "extended lunch" in London once. They also debranded it. Only charged me a tenner too.

The "operator branded" software is complete carp and it's painfully slow, but get it unlocked and you can put the latest "unbranded" nokia firmware on and then it runs like a dream!
As for the sat nav, I use the Garmin Mobile XT software on it which uses the internal GPS receiver and therefore no extra charges are incurred (as it's standalone). I've used it a couple of times in London when I'm in unfamiliar territory. Been a godsend.
The N82 looks ok though, anyone got one of those yet?
My vote goes to the N95 as well - just remove the Operator software and upgarde the firmware and bobs your uncle...

Back to the w810i now, its possibly the best phone i've ever used.
You can pick them up pretty cheap now so all you need on top of that is the SIM only deal
