Isnt this all because the home office wont uphold their own agreement to backdate the wages?

How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think

Is it just me who doesn't want more police on the streets?

We've got loads in Sunderland, and I find it quite unnecessary and intimidating.

Maybe we could just send you lot some down?

They also gave nurses in Scotland their pay rise in full on 1 April, rather than the staged increase imposed on English nurses.... hmmm I'm beginning to see a pattern here

Yes. They only backdated it to 1 December instead of September, turning the agreed 2.5% raise into an actual 1.9%. Sharp practice by HMG.

But they also agreed the full pay rise to police civilian staff.

It's been estimated that this will save £30m which seems a really stupid fight to pick for what in terms of the overall govt spend is like me pi55ing off the wife over a penny.
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

              I preferred version 1!

And the Scots got the full raise as well, didn't they? I wonder why (cough! Scots Nationalists. cough!)

Well you should support these poor police officers. Some of them get as little as £260,000 per year.

Scottish government decided to use its money that way. Government in London decided to use its equivalent money some other way.
