I think the one of the problems is that modern day Britain lacks consistent/dominant culture ie an identity. Whether you like them or not, most Americans could tell you what it means to be American. Most other countries - from Australia to India to Japan to Nigeria have strong cultures and the people would be able to tell you what it meant to be someone from that country.
With so many people and cultures now in Britain, what does it mean to be British?
The average brits I know are not that happy with their lot in life and look forward to the day they emigrate to Spain/France/Oz/NZ/Canada etc.Don't ask Beaker. He's just another muppet.Comment
