In the throes of panic, rather than face the prospect of the father (who is a doctor) being struck off the medical register and the mother losing her remaining 2 kids to the social services they decide to rent a car and bury her in the woods.

Then they invent a story about a stalker who abducted their child and then they meet the pope and get all the media attention that should have been devoted to a more worthy cause. They meet the pope and believe that the more they protest their innocence the better their story sticks.

Then they sell their story to Hollywood and the film becomes self referential at that point and they lived happily ever after and laughed all the way to the bank.

    The End
Well until we know the facts, how can you say this film you've so kindly scripted about the McCanns is factual?

The McCanns haven't been charged with murder or manslaughter, as far as I know, even if they are suspects.

With people like you around, I'm just glad that the burden of proof for criminal cases is 'beyond reasonable doubt.' I just hope you're never called up for jury service.

I too have my doubts about the McCann's innnocence, but suspicion is not the same as proof. So we need to believe at this stage that they are innocent until proven guilty. That is the corner stone of justice in a fair and democratic society.

No I'm not taking the piss. It sounds like you are taking the 'piss' though with all that boozing that is messing up your faculties.

A film ? FFS ! What a truly horrendous and despicable idea !

What's the matter with these people ?

A jolly musical would be a much better choice, featuring some of the classic "holiday" dances like "The Birdie Song" and "Hey Macarena !" to get the audience in the mood and create the holiday ambience.

          Pah...amateurs.
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

            Or what about a Panto.

McCanns : We didn't abduct or kill our daughter.

Audience kids: Oh yes you did.

McCanns : Oh no we didn't.

Audience kids : Oh yes you did.......

I'm getting a vibe here...gameshow..or even Reality TV.

What have they let themselves in for ?

My mum's work-colleague's brother used to drink with some of the group that went holiday with the McCanns.

But I shan't voice my 4th-hand opinion of them here: it's only a matter of time before the Daily Express offers cold, hard cash for it.

Well I for one think it's a brilliant idea and not in poor taste at all.

Look on the brightside. Once it's been released and available straight away in the 'two for a fiver' aisle in your local blockbusters (blueray format no less), the police can rent a copy and use it 'shed new light' on their enquiries.

Only 1 in 10 films make in from pre-production to release. The f4j one is moving on - but that's a story for another thread.

Sorry but I hope this one sinks without trace. Plenty of other missing children who need publicity.

It's not going to be much of a film is it. A couple go for a meal and lose a kid. There is no ending to it. Either somebody took her or the parents did something. Until we know one way or the other how are they going to end it. I'd wait a while until a body turns up before I invested in the film.
