You really are in a cave then!

My predictions FWIW are this: Edwards and Clinton score enough to stay in the race in NH. Following this Obama slips back/up, and Edwards, being white, a man, and from the south and all, gets the democratic nomination with Clinton as his running mate. McCain scores the nomination for the Republicans and he's different enough to Bush to attract the republicans who are disillusioned. This should carry the south, and I think, in a personality battle with Edwards, McCain will get the presidency. The republicans are MUCH better than the democrats at mobilising their base when they have someone they believe in, and McCain will do a much better job of getting the wavering voters. I think the US voters are still alot more right leaning than everyone on here thinks (or hopes) they are, and come to that, what most of the press over thinks (or hopes) they are.

    You heard it here first.

Of course I could be way off the mark too

I thought the thread title would be a bit of a give away, but clearly I overestimated some member's comprehension skills.

Anyway, if the allowable topic of discussion is purely limited to what affects us then it'd be a very dull board indeed.

If you're not interested don't post. Not a hard concept really. Personally I think you're truly living in a fantasy world if you don't think US politics affects us just because we live in the UK.

It's all a matter of perception and what you perceive as affecting you.

Anyway, since when was CND on the Green Bandwagon ?

Are you campaigning to remove only Eco-Friendly Nuclear Weapons ?

Or are you saying Eco-Friendly Nuclear Weapons are ok, it's the other ones that are bad ?

        Talk about mixed messages...
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

You're not the sharpest knife in the drawer BGG. I'm parodying the perception of me, not actually promoting CND, or greenpeace.

Anyway, feckin hell - didn't see that one coming, all the polls had Obama well and truly ahead - I remember watching CNN last night and the exit polls were predicting a massive Obama victory. Be interesting to see where she got her votes and which ones Obama lost (FFS, hope it wasn't those crocodile tears on Monday).

This could be pivotal, there are a lot of primaries coming up where independents don't get to vote and Clinton is considered to be strongest.

Who knows what's going to happen with the republicans, Guilianni's shot for glory is coming up soon - that would really put the cat amongst the pigeons.

Very interesting result. Politics students will be analysing the events of the last few days for years to come.

Oh right. So you don't believe in CND or Greenpeace but you use an avatar that does promote then in an effort to parody your public perception ?

I'm not going to insult your intelligince. You're doing a fine job on your own.

              I'd suggest this avatar myself.

Actually, no I don't believe in CND, though I do sympathise with greenpeace - not in everything but their heart is in the right place. It's called self depreciation - think I'd fall into the tree hugging hippy stereotype on here, hence me taking the piss out of myself. Do I really have to explain this any more?

Anyway, not really interested in getting into a debate with someone who so clearly is missing the point of this particular thread. And BTW If you're going to slag me off for my lack of intelligence - at least spell the word intelligence properly.

I want Hillary to win, I really like her…. I also really liked Bill, he is definitely the best president USA had for the last 50 years or so.

Oh can we have a Poll please?

I don't mind Hillary all that much, I just fear that she will be the best vote winner republicans could imagine. She's loathed in a special kind of way on the right in America (Same way Maggie was loathed by the left here) and I fear that if she got in the republican base would come out en mass to make sure the Clintons didn't get back in power.

On the other hand I could see Obama knicking a few republican votes from people tired of partisan politics and the hold that the Christian fundamentalists seem to have over the republicans.
