Has anyone done some logistics on this?

I have been to way to many user group nights out to leave it to chance.. I need to know if I am passing out in the street or can get a taxi while it is possible to get one in the taxi hell that is manc worldComment

No idea on anything else, which is why I haven't confirmed or denied my attendance yet, and whether it's worth trying to get a family member to look after my girls so Mrs F and I can stay in a hotel.Comment

The plan I think is as follows:
1. Turn up
2. Get tulip faced.
That was pretty much the plan for the London do. Everyone sorted their own hotel and people left early, late and later still.
The general idea is turn up, leave when you feel like it. No-one is held ransom all night. Afaik most people had left by 12:15am in london. I think a few of us carried on till 1am and a one or two (no prizes for guessing) lasted till a lot later.
This isn't technically a user-group meet. We have the social skills to pull something like this off.
Failing that we have RealityHack and his Queens English to order us to the next pub in orderly fashion. "Any man not moving at marching pace will be shot!".Comment
