I think it was a taxi - we just walked into the road, flagged it down and asked the driver to take us to Camden! The driver did as he was told.

Yes, it is becoming a common problem in London, innocent people are driving home only for groups of drunken people to jump in the back of their car and demand to be driven around.

Generally, most people are so sure that you will have a weapon on you that the safest thing for them to do is just comply.

That's how I eventually got to my hotel - flagged down a random car, since none of the taxis stopped. getting into an off duty taxi didn't help my journey, either....

I remember his parting speech...was very touching.

TF: "No, really I mean it....she has to get back to her hotel"

I promptly got in a taxi and ****ed off I was so glad CM surfaced the next day. Means she did get to the hotel...flip knows how.

I think, perhaps, that there was more than one person I was issuing instructions to take care of CM to.

Certainly, I remember there being more than one person I was talking to (although they all looked identical, but blurred now I come to think of it)

It takes years of living in London to work out where the most fertile places for Black cabs late at night are. For the West End, there is a spot in Mayfair, around Shepherd Market, off Piccadilly where you can usually find some. (This is also where you go to get the high-class call girls FYI)

But usually you can't be bothered to do the walk so you'll take anyone that will stop.
