My wife (a community midwife) has a 'company' car and she can add any family member to the insurance for nowt!

My 17 year old daughter passed her test a few weeks ago. When she started learning we rang up the insurance company and she was added, no charge

Don't know how this works but a friend (another mfdwife) added her daughter to her insurance and had numerous bumps and still didn't have to pay.

      Spot on!

I'm with Prudential (Chruchill now really) and every knock I have been involved in they have sorted out by flexing thier legal arm and I've never had to go to court. Compare this to the cheap insurance company I was insured with when I was younger who lost at court when somebody drove into the back of me and cost me my no claims.....

I could prolly shave £50-£100 off my premium if I really wanted to, but it's just not worth it. Instead I know that if somebody drives into me i'll win, chances of me having to go to court to win are very very slim and I get to drive a brand new A4 (or equivalent) around for a couple of weeks while they fix my car.

Same thing happened to my wife - hit at the back (standard case where you expect to win) - faced Norwich Union (whose solicitors' didn't play ball) and ended up losing her NCB.
