At admiral.com , I was just quoted 750 gbp for Audi A3 2004 - much lower than any of those ( confused.com ) "What-a-load-of-crap" comparison sites had offered. These time-losing sites have only one purpose - collect your personal data and sell it to marketing companies.

I found confused.com were very good. DirectLine were the ones that made a big fuss about refusing to deal with them, but that was mainly because it showed up that DirectLine weren't nearly as competitive as they used to be. They count on you getting pissed off and not looking further than the well known brands - something confused.com does for you.
And yes you should be insuring for business use. Will work inside IR35. Or for food.Comment

Your mileage claims for business journeys is meant to cover the complete expense of the journeys you'll make in your car (which is a two seater Porsche really isn't it?)Eat Right, Exercise, Die Anyway.Comment

Well most of the sites were not able to return result for all sorts of reasons , the 3 -4 quotes i got range between 1 and 4 k for my desired 12k Audi A3.
Now this is going to take some time If I am to input all that information over and over again in search for less than 1 k quote. \
That 1 to 4 k is fishy for a 12 K car ... I wonder if selecting IT Consultant had biased the quote..Comment

The information goes off to many different insurance companies who will then return their quote to you.
