I wonder what % of deaths per 100,000 are related to obesity?

It starts with thousands. Before you know it, it's curly wurlies, then you're duckin off down a dark alleyway, blowing sailers for mars bars and jumping off tall buildings cause you can't take the lows after the sugar highs.

Just say no, stick to the rivettas.

I think we've flown off at a tangent.

I think everyone agrees that experimenting without addiction isn't going to cause a problem.

The issue is if your daughter comes back and says her friend is getting into drugs, implying a more serious problem do you ignore it, or would you at least inform the parent.

Now can someone explain to me what the terrible consequences of informing a parent are?

IT isn't clear to me what is damaging or stupid about doing that.

Yes of course it might not be a drug problem, so is that a big problem. The parents go to their daughter say "have you got a problem", daughter says "no". I think the parents would notice if she was stoned all the time or just experimenting ocasionally.
                  I'm alright Jack

the child has come to you in confidence, i would therefore speak with her and suggest you think that telling the girls parents is the best solution. I wouldnt just go and mention it. it WILL get back to your daughter that she told you who told them and therefore may have repercussions.

so, losing your childs confidence i'd say is a fairly terrible consequence for not keeping them in the loop.

Damned if you do and damned if you don't. The information has been imparted.

How do you fancy the line "Oh, Mrs So and So, I can't say how sorry we are at your tragic loss. My little Jenny did say something about your daughter and drugs but we didn't like to abuse her trust by telling you."

                      No, me neither.

If it was my daughter I'd want to know.
