Why not use Trading standards approved trades people?
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.
But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”Comment

Because, they have a list of about 2 builders in the area.
When you call them, they say "sorry mate, busy for at least 18 months."

Then pop along to the local new build site, ask to speak to the foreman and ask if anyone does foreigners (no not beat them up). You will get a decent job done at a fraction of the market price. The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

I'm going to be calling him later today and I'm going to be speaking to the kitchen company who reccomended him.
The 20k is a lot for it, but it is big and there was a significant amount of building work which had to be done due to the removal of an internal wall and an arch. Both of which needed steel put in.
This all started when my wife had her kidney transplant and we had stressed how important it was to keep the dirt down. We had asked that they seal off the rest of the house, which they agreed to but didn't actually do. The fact that after her op, dirt could actually kill her seemed to be a concept they couldn't grasp.Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.
I preferred version 1!Comment

We had two Polish plumbers. They worked hard.Originally posted by Bagpuss View PostThen pop along to the local new build site, ask to speak to the foreman and ask if anyone does foreigners (no not beat them up). You will get a decent job done at a fraction of the market price.
Sadly they used all the wrong guage pipes and the work failed the building inspection, and so they had to come back, rip it all out and start again.
Polish plumbers meet Polish building standards, they certainly know f-all about UK regs.Comment
