nitrogen narchosis, related to the increase in partial pressure of nitrogen in the gas mix.

The air we breathe is made of:
      20.97% oxygen
      79% nitrogen
      0.03% carbon dioxide

So, if you are diving using 20% nitrox (i.e. less oxygen than when you are breathing air on the surface), you are:

      a) not really a diver and are making things up
      b) somebody who has been instructed by an incompetent
      c) some kind of alien form (maybe Zeitghost's illegitimate son?)

ah, and don't get me started on DCI.....

Well I dive in mountain lakes where the surface partial pressure of oxygen is less than 0.2 bar. Also the air I compress contains 1% Argon. I have it specially imported.

It's what divers get when you turn off their air supply.

I humbly stand corrected and bow to the skills of the technical lake diver

Then you might be in for a mild case of hypoxia/headaches - 21% nitrox mix is what we call 'air'...

ah, and don't get me started on DCI.....
but I did make a full recovery...

(Diving GP did suspect a bad egg butty rather than full blown DCI afterwards as I had no PFO when tested).

Sitting in a hyperbaric chamber for 4 hours with a RAF piot's face mask strapped on tight is no fun, I can tell you...
