when you say they are not so tough, do you mean in terms of soldiering, or in terms of punch ups in the boozer
No, in terms of soldiering, they are good. That is without a doubt.
I have seen them get beat up in the boozer tho..
When I di my skydiving course, there were about 9 or 10 marines on it. There was a bit of banter going on between the Sgt in charge and a woman officer cadet about who would bottle out first.
When it came to it, she was out the plane faster than a rat up a drain pipe.
The Sgt got out on the step after a bit of a struggle and held on. The pilot was banking the plane to try and get him to let go but he held on. The instructor was kicking and pushing him but in the end he got back in the plane...which is a tough feat in itself!!!
In the end he was pretty much ostracised for letting down the image of the marines.
In the bar afterwards, the instructor said in 10000 jumps he had had only 3 failures to jump...1 woman and 2 marines!!!!!
All respect to the rest of them though...
"If you can read this, thank a teacher....and since it's in English, thank a soldier"
