Jeremy Irons? Each one of his movies is a masterpiece... watching Dead Ringers now with Geneviève Bujold (always thought Genevieve is really pretty) - really good movie.

I can catergorically state, as an avid Dungeons & Dragons afficionado of 25+ years, that Jeremy Irons who starred as "Profion" in the D&D Movie is universally derided and reviled for his efforts by the whole D&D community.
We were excited to hear of such an established actor taking the mantle of the Arch Villain. After the film, we soon realised that an Ewok could have done better.
How can such an accomplished actor drop the ball so far ?

So in answer to your question...not every one of J.I's movies is a masterpiece, and there is a section of the film-going community that want him actively pursued for heresy against fantasy film depiction.
And you think we are joking ?Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

He did the awful Time Machine with Samantha Mumba (was it ?), the awful swords and sorcery film Eragon and the hilariously bad Dungeons & Dragons film with Mrs. Tom Cruise.
But despite this he is still a great actor, I think his role in the Lolita remake was really good.Comment

He famously did Dungeons and Dragons to pay for an extension to his house.
I agree Re: Lolita remake. Far far far better than the original film I thought. Will work inside IR35. Or for food.Comment

I last saw him in Kingdom of Heaven.
Thought he was quite good even though he had a dodgy scar on his face.
But it does look like he isn't up to much at the moment:

Leon Trotsky? If you find this post offensive, please insert "Chan" before and "tho" after, then it should be OK.
