Coming on top of the semi-u-turn on taxing school budget savings, soon Brown-Darling's latest pre-budget report will only contain the ideas they stole from the tories! -

Isn't this just for those retiring - so no doubt the tax free bit will have some kind of age restriction attached to it.Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.
I preferred version 1!Comment

Who knows? What do they mean by "retiring"? I think General Broon and Captain Darling are starting to lose the plot.Originally posted by TonyEnglish View PostIsn't this just for those retiring - so no doubt the tax free bit will have some kind of age restriction attached to it.Comment

Well that was a nonsense anyway. It takes somebody who's never done a real job in their life to think that a use it or lost it budgetary system saves money. It took HMG 30 years to find out that that it didn't and 10 minutes for some wet behind the ears politician to decide that he wants to go through the learning process again.Originally posted by wendigo100 View Post

I believe the plan is that you can only take the relief once. If you then start up another business no relief applies.Originally posted by TonyEnglish View PostIsn't this just for those retiring - so no doubt the tax free bit will have some kind of age restriction attached to it.

This is from the guy who, when TB stabbed him in the back by continuing on as PM when he had an agreement to stand down in his favour didn't so much as raise an eyebrow.
It's Deja-vu all over again!
