We're celebrating the failure of a catholic plot to blow up the house of parliament.

And IR35 has marigold all to do with subsistence claims.

What the government should so is allow villagers to arm themselves with sniper rifles to pick off anti-social youths.
Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!

Why do we burn Guy Fawkes?

Is it because hanging, drawing and quartering would appear too gruesome?

Btw, Fawkes was a lucky(cowardly?) bastard, jumping from the scaffold and breaking his neck before he could be drawn and quartered.

And Britain had been celebrating failure ever since
Some people are like slinkys, totally pointless but the thought of pushing them down a flight of stairs never fails to put a smile on your face.

Sorry to hear about the dog, but it is not the fireworks fault.
Most people enjoy having their own fireworks party and that should not be stopped because of irresponsibles dickheads like you describe.
I am against most nany state type interferance though some restriction on which fireworks the public can buy may be in order.

As a society we have lost all respect for and responsibility to others it is time we found a way of putting that back.
I am not qualified to give the above advice!

Isn't the obvious answer, 'don't sell fireworks to under 25s'?

Same with guns. It's only the irresponsible dickheads who spoil it for the rest of us who want to swan about the high street with a 12-bore under our arms.

We have otherwise perfectly respectable people in our village who throw parties with midnight firework displays that wake everyone up - at any time of the year - so I'm all for a ban.

I Agree. I'd ban dogs from the a57 from running into and damaging the cars
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

                I preferred version 1!

Quite. Bit liberal for you AtW?

The problem is the yobs not the fireworks, only it is easier to ban fireworks especially as so many people enjoy them.

I'm happy yo allow the use of fireworks provided I'm also allowed to beat the crap out of anyone misusing them and annoying me (what constitutes misuse is up to me to decide).

Why do the general public need fireworks? Anything you can buy in a shop is nowhere near as good as the ones at a display. The majority of these weapons get into the hands of delinquent children who use them to terrify old people and animals for a month every year, all hours of the day. There is no argument for the public to have them in the light of the way they will always be abused.
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”
