Found out yesterday that my mum is seriously ill in hospital, couldn't get today off but am too distracted to do any proper work so I've spent pretty much all morning bimbling around on here ;_;

We're down 3 people this week, I'm doing all their work and my own, and I made the fatal error of not making sure other people know how to do my work.. so if I had today off, 350 people wouldn't get paid, and that's a bit tight. I'm going after work, she lives in Hartlepool and I'm in Surrey, god knows how long that will take

Thanks for the sympathy, she's very poorly but not going to die or anything, I just need to see for myself if that makes sense..

Yes, have told them and they're letting me have next week off paid even though I haven't got any holiday left, just realised I must have made them sound like a right bunch of ****s, they're not that bad really

And my team have been luvverly (well, the 2 of them that are here). I have unlimited cups of tea/coffee and have had a dairy milk donated to me, so it's not all bad..
