What would happen if a customer refused to be pay at a checkout manned by a Muslim?

Looks like the Christian bloke was well-known for his anti-gay protests.

Difficult one, though. Should one be allowed to ask to be served by another member of staff, based on the staff member's sexuality, race, creed, whatever? What if the librarian had been a known member of the nasty-but-legal BNP? Would one be within one's rights to refuse to be served by such a person?

He has his principles and is entitled to his beliefs...just the same as anyone else. It was ridiculous to lock him up though.

I can't see how his beliefs prevent him receiving library services though.

If he'd know the man was "living in sin" with a woman, or was a worshipper of Allah, or simply full of pride, would he still have refused service?
