It's just a shame Brown didn't have the conviction to put his popularity to the test.

All the polls showed Labour well in front until the Toried did their Inheritance Tax bribery bit..the bribery effect will soon wear off and the Tories will fade back into idiocy.

I am not a Labour fan but the Tories are no better.

But given that Labour had just had their conference and that Brown was still in his honeymoon period. What scuppered things for Brown was not just what the Tories announced, but the realisation that he is a liar. He talks about putting integrity back into politics and being a conviction politician. In reality he nothing more than the same old spin merchant - along the lines of Blair, only not as good at it.

To be honest, from a Tory point of view I suspect that they might well be glad that an election wasn't called. Not because they wouldn't win (although they did win in England last time around and they were 6% ahead in the marginals when Brown chickened out) but because by winning they would be forced to deal with an economy slowing down but huge borrowing commitments.

Lets see how far back the Tories sink when the next round of council tax bills start hitting the mat. There is a significant shortfall in the local council grants which we are all going to have to pay through our council tax.
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

      I preferred version 1!

Yes it is obviously better to have this fat useless tosser in charge rather than anybody else. You know the guy who robbed our pensions, sold off our gold at a record low point, jacked up our taxes through direct and indirect means and who largely wasted them on a public sector which is performing marginally better in certain areas than the one which ran on half the cash. You know the guy who NOBODY voted for.

Me? An idiot? Well, if you say so.

I merely asked you for a list of the "**** ups" caused by the Tories during their term in power.

You couldn't answer the question so I assumed it was you that was the idiot.

Ah well, you learn something new every day.

You made an assumption because I did not answer the way you wanted...so I was right.

All the polls have shown is that there are a lot of undecided people out there.

When it was the Labour conference, people looked and thought "ooh, Labour, must think about voting for them". Then the Tories disclosed their bit of bribery and people thought "ooh, shiny, new Blair-like man, must vote for them". (Note, not many people thought "ooh, really old bloke, must vote for them").

From here until the election in May 2009, there will be many many swings between who is up and down in the polls, depending on who has a good day / week / month. Politically, I think that from a Brown-ite perspective, it's better to be judged on what you do rather than what people think you might do - that is the prerogative of being in government rather than opposition. Whether this will work or not is a completely different argument, which we won't see the result for a few years.

My assumption that you lacked the intelligence and maturity to answer the question has proved correct. You Sir, are a buffoon!
